Dougan Ladies | Lifestyle

This sweet momma and I met when we were seniors in college. I walked into my senior methods class and claimed an empty seat next to her. Over the next few minutes, we realized we had a lot in common: both love Jesus, love photography, love Ben Rector and were both studying to teach middle school. So when Ben Rector announced he was coming to Austin, I asked her to join in on a weeknight road trip to sing our hearts out. And she did! And our whole friendship was history from there.

We’ve both stood in each other’s weddings, cruised to Mexico, ministered at SOS ministries together and have bonded over long conversations of how in the world we survive teaching middle schoolers. And because you know I love a good timeline (exhibit A), I’ve included a few fun photos for you to see!

Now let’s fast forward to the present! Besides being a kind friend, Micaela is a loving wife, momma to two (as of two days ago) beautiful girls and a talented photographer at Allay Photography in Houston, TX. She has been a constant source of encouragement for me as I’ve grown in the Lord, married my husband, walked through marriage and now most recently as I’ve launched my photography business.

We enjoyed some girl time a few weeks ago and I just had to snap a few pictures of just her and Evie before the baby came. I pray that as Evie looks back on these pictures, she notices the way her mom can’t help but smile at her and remembers the sweet season of it being “mommy, daddy and evie”. Because I’m so excited to announce that earlier this week, Kendall was added to family! It’s taking everything in me not to jump in the car and drive to visit! I cannot wait to snuggle the newest Dougan so so soon! But until then, I’ll scroll through these photos and remember how good God is and how He has given us more than we could ask or imagine!
